Ms.Deepa Maheswari
Asst Manager - Admission
Dear Deepa,
With adequate preparation I appeared for GMAT in Sept, 2009 and ended up scoring 630 (Q-49, V-27). I stepped out of the exam center completely lost as I didn't know how to overcome the challenges with
verbal.
For the next two days, I explored the internet to find a training enter who would be able to help me to identify and to work on my weak areas. While doing the search, I landed up at the Achievers Point
site. What made me interested in AP was the claim that AP knew the art of preparing Indian students for Verbal. Impressed, I called up the enter and was then connected to Ms.Namita, the faculty for GMAT verbal. After talking to her, I became more impressed and decided to give the academy a try. I was enrolled for the 20 hrs online tutoring program.
In quant, I probably knew my areas of improvement and Ms.Sweta - the math faculty was able to provide me the right strategies just in one session. Then started the most impressive part of the journey. Ms Namita took one session to assess me ;the next one month indeed challenging both for the faculty and for me. First I had to unlearn some of the incorrect learnings that I had in my life before the actual training started. The classes were short, concise and absolutely engaging. I never felt that I was experiencing the classes through SKYPE. Although the total contact program was for 20 hrs, we completed the lessions in 16 hours. I preferred to keep 4 hours for sessions to clarify doubts but after the program I never had major doubts. Namita suggested me to give one mock test a day and to appear for the exam again in late Nov.
I re-appeared for the exam on 2nd. Dec. Honestly, this time I actually enjoyed the exam. I could complete quant with 2 minutes to spare ( in my first attempt, I guessed the last 4 questions in the last one minute). Then came the verbal session. In my first attempt, the verbal section beat me completely. I remember my verbal session in Sept, I read the RC paragraphs again and again with little success of cracking those to answer the questions. Moreover, in my Sept attempt I could not complete the verbal section.Surprisingly, in the Dec attempt, RC looked like the easiest among all the types of questions. I was also able to face the SC and CR questions confidently this time. Again, when I finished the last verbal question, I still had one minute to spare.
Well, in reallity, I did not answer all the questions correctly. My final score ( which I received today) has been 720 ( Q-50, V-37, AWA - 5.5) and I am not complaining. Pulling the verbal score from 27 to 37 requires something special and I want to give AchiversPoint the complete credit for injecting that 'special ....' in me.
Finally, I want to thank all of you for your huge effort in guiding me to score 700+. Special thanks to Namita for her ability to assess me so quickly and confidently and for her excellent coaching.
I don't know how to do something in return for you. I would glad to recommend you to each of your prospects. Feel free to share my contact number, email id with your prospects. In addition, I offer my free consulting services (in the learning solution space) to AchieversPoint in case that's of any help to you.
